I have a friend who was a Southern Baptist and became a Mennonite because of his pacifistic beliefs...I think he said the Mennonites (along with the Quakers) don't believe in going to war. Although I do believe in WWII those religious consciencious objectors served in non-combatant roles....medics, etc. (As a kid I would hear stories from my parents about our next door neighbor who served as a medic as a C.O. in some of the most horrendous battles in the South Pacific).

I need help/info on other religions vs the WTS
by Leander inover the past week since i've announced that i was stepping down i have had a few conversations with my family, and against my better judgement i mentioned that i was having doubts.
invariably almost every discussion about the jw religion eventually boils down to the argument that only witnesses are doing this or that.
unfortunately this is a weak part of my debate, i have only been associated with the jw religion so i have very little information on what other religions beleive and practice.

Just read your posts. Congratulations for sticking with it. Keep up the good work, you'll never regret it. My Step Father died a couple of years ago from emphasyma...he was on oxygen for several months. Went into the emergency room on a Sunday morning where we were told he had two months to live. He was admitted to the hospital for a couple of days to adjust his oxygen. On Monday at noon we went to help him with lunch, stayed and hour and then he took a nap. A couple of hours later he never woke up...all the while struggleing to breath. Over the several months he was on oxygen, the level mix was eventually moved up as high as it could get, so his lungs just couldn't process it....he slowly stangled to death. It was awful... He smoked all his life, but was from a generation that didn't know any better.

Ground Zero PHOTOS! (Goodbye Red X's???)
by Mister Biggs inthese were taken on february 11, 2002 (five months after the tragedy).. this day, they pulled the bodies of 5 victims from the rubble.. i wish the photos were larger but the larger photos eventually turn into red x's.. reflect and enjoy!.
the building's that you see did not suffer as much damage as the other building's (shown above) that were to the left of the wtc.
a closer shot of the smaller buildings that are shown in one of the photos above.... .

Thanks for sharing...I feel like I just had a visit there. Also, the artwork was really cool...they look like depression era construction workers on a lunch break...they kind of pictures you see when they were constructing The Empire State building.
Makes me emotionally relive (partly) the awful event....I think we all could use a reminder, because I think we need to be vigilant for the future. Thanks again.

Your tribute touched me deeply and brought back memories of my father's passing. The only other thing I have to offer is an old chinese proverb which I believe IS true:
"Life is a dream walking, death is going home."
Losing a close parent is really tough. Truly my prayers go with you during this difficult time.

rbaitz:
If Jesus had not risen from the dead with His body (now glorified) why was the tomb open?
Precisely...you just answered your own question. The tomb was opened, Jesus rose from the dead with a now Glorified, immortal body. -

Welcome JAC... If you haven't been around this board much...take a look-see. You'll find some pretty interesting conversations from some very open-mined (and close-minded) people, and that's what makes the world go around! Glad to have you aboard.
